Franz Design Studio, a Landscape Architecture firm, creates elegant and artistic landscapes that are sustainable, dynamic and timeless. Kristen Franz established FDS in the Spring of 2018, after working for award-winning firms in Los Angeles. With its roots in Santa Barbara, California, FDS has worked on projects locally, throughout the state and internationally.

FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL
Kristen Franz is the founder and principal of Franz Design Studio. With a background in architecture, fine art, ecological analysis and landscape architecture, she leads a collaborative design studio located in Santa Barbara. Kristen is interested in the interaction of architecture, art and landscape. She has experience in large scale master planning of 500-acre parks, institutional and commercial campuses, as well as high end residences and estate gardens. With her work throughout Southern California, she integrates utility and design in environmentally sensitive areas and fire and drought sensitive landscapes.
Kristen holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design from UC Berkeley and Master of Landscape Architecture from University of Southern California. Kristen is a licensed Landscape Architect in the State of California.
